Tips to Boost Self Confidence | Anonymous Mailbag

Usually, it is my job (as a coach) to ask questions. But today I want to share real answers to your questions.  It’s an opportunity to gain a fresh perspective to that business or life issue that has you feeling “stuck.”

We’ve all seen it in nearly every aspect of life; two people with comparable skills turn out very different levels of performance. One succeeds and one fails. One executive successfully turns around a failing business; another just can’t make it happen.  One person is able to pull herself out of a career rut and make a fundamental career transformation; another continues unhappily in the dead-end position.

Here’s what is on the mind of one reader.

I want to make a career move and yet feel stuck in my current position within a small financial services firm.  My desire is to leave and start something new, but something holds me back.  What can I do to gain self-confidence and make the move?

If any one of these scenarios sound familiar to you, it’s time to take action.  Action in the simplest forms is all you need. Here are 10 of my favorite actions that are guaranteed to increase your confidence, performance and unlock your potential:

  1. Think positive
  2. Kill negative thoughts.
  3. Set a small goal and achieve it.
  4. Change a small habit.
  5. Focus on solutions.
  6. Volunteer.
  7. Do something you’ve been procrastinating on.
  8. Get active.
  9. Work on small things.
  10. Empower yourself with knowledge.
