Thanksgiving, 2013

I’m sitting on the beach at sunrise in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, a family holiday tradition since 2005.  Through the years, Thanksgiving is now my favorite holiday – a time for reflection and celebration for the many blessings in our lives.  It’s definitely not a holiday that involves me shopping and buying lots of gifts (sometimes okay, but often overblown, unnecessary and not my favorite activity.)

Rather, Thanksgiving is special because it’s about gratitude, satisfaction, love, presence, and creativity (perhaps to start “new” traditions) – an intention or being purposeful in how we live our lives. And that leads us to our own transformation.  Imagine that!

It’s about giving thanks for the many blessings in my personal life and business.  For my family (who commit every year to this new holiday tradition), friends, clients and colleagues all who have come into my life and given me new perspectives to be happier, more appreciative, and a better me – thank you!

So, here on this Thanksgiving, may you “cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously.  And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.”
Happy Thanksgiving!
