7 Tips to Make Every Day Matter

During my early morning workout, I often unconsciously hear the same gym music and info messages routinely repeated.  Although today was different – I consciously heard these words, “what gets measured, gets improved.”

Or another perspective, “what you focus on increases.”

Whether you are a fitness enthusiast like me or one eager for a fresh start to transform your luck — take heed.  Either mantra will get you on your journey.

People who strive for success make every day matter.  Whether you want to improve your performance, better business results, happier relationships or run your next 5K.   Start now and live each day as if it’s your last.

7 Tips to Make Every Day Matter

1.  Life is Too Short To Be Cranky
Attitude is a choice.  We create our own world by the way we choose to see it.  Will you focus on fear, worry, problems, negativity or despair?   What if you focus your mind on confidence, opportunity, solutions, optimism and success.  You decide.

2.  Keep Your Word
Look the world straight in the eye.  Say what you mean, and mean what you say.

3.  Forgive Everyone, Especially YOU
Make it a rule, “always be the first to forgive – especially yourself.”  Letting go of past resentment and moving on is liberating.

4.  Move Forward
The past is not your potential.  There are far better days ahead than any you leave behind.

5.  Quit Worrying
How many of your biggest worries have actually come true?  It’s estimated that 99% of the things we worry about never come to pass.  Stop worrying about what might happen and give yourself time to actually enjoy today.

6.  Be Grateful
Stop and view your life through the eyes of the other 6 billion people on earth.  Hundreds of millions of people would gladly trade places with you right now.  Be grateful for everything and everyone.

7.  It’s the Little Things
Thinking small is an art — the art of living.   The happiness of life and even luck is made up of little things — a smile, saying “thank you”, a gentle heart, words of encouragement and a shared laughter create the happiness of life well lived.

Start small . . .  transform your luck.  The choices are yours — what will you decide?
